Dr. Dave Gelbmann is board qualified in both foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with degrees in biology and molecular biology in 2006. He then returned to his home city of Cleveland to attend the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, where he graduated in 2011 in the top 10 percent of his class.
Following podiatry school Dr. Gelbmann underwent an intense, three-year surgical residency training at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit, MI. There, he performed two to three surgeries per weekday under the direction and mentorship of some of Michigan’s finest foot and ankle surgeons.
Gelbmann spent his first year after residency working in private practice in Vernon Hills, IL, as well as seeing patients and performing surgery while on staff at Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital.
When not treating patients, he spends most of his free time with his wife and daughter, Madison. He also enjoys biking and running outdoors.
